Hi there.
A few weeks ago, I told you that I’d be taking a break to catch up on other projects.
The truth is, there’s one major project I’m working on that will continue to demand my attention. I’ve taken a position managing a campaign for US Congress in South Mississippi.
That means that I won’t have the time needed to keep this newsletter going until this election cycle comes to an end.
Writing this newsletter for the last eight months has been incredibly rewarding— a way for me to wrestle with complex ideas around policy and politics. I hope it has helped you, too.
I want to take a second to tell you about this campaign. For ten years, Mississippi’s 4th congressional district has been represented in DC by a far-right extremist who has faces credible accusations of ethical misconduct concerning campaign and taxpayer funds, and has shown little interest in hearing the concerns of his own constituents. Rev. David Sellers embodies everything our current congressman lacks: leadership, compassion, and a moral compass. David Sellers wants to move past culture war issues to focus on the things that actually matter to the people of South Mississippi: education, labor, and justice. That’s why he has my full support.
So consider following David on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to keep up with his campaign. Check out his website to learn more about him and where he stands on the issues. And if you’re able, consider contributing to the cause financially, because unfortunately, campaigns cost a lot of money.
More than anything, though, if you live in South Mississippi, please vote for David Sellers in the Democratic primary on June 7.
Thank you for caring enough to read for the last eight months.
Be safe. Drink water. You are loved.
Take care.
